My coffee maker is acting up. It's bad. Maybe it is time for a replacement. I bought this one about twelve years ago; I'd say I got my money's worth.
My car was acting up. It's bad, too. Maybe it is time for a replacement. I got a tune-up today, so that's another $178 that I've sunk into it this year. That car's killing me, but getting a new car would be even more expensive....I kinda like not having a car payment.
I have to write a two page paper on Passing by Nella Larsen. It takes place in the 1920's and it's about black women posing as white women. I am finding it difficult to relate to it. I think I'm going to go off on a Sartre-inspired rant about how we do not determine our own identities, our identities are determined by those who perceive us.....he's full of shit, but I can stretch it out to two pages without breaking a sweat.
I started reading Absalom! Absalom! by William Faulkner.....this is the first thing by him I've read. I, and two teammates, have to do a presentation on it roundabout Thanksgiving. I figured I should read it once now for fun and to get the gist of it and then read it much more critically somewhere in early November. I'm not enjoying it much so far.
