What a gorgeous day...I decided to take the proverbial time to "stop and smell the roses"...which in my case meant enjoy the morning at my leisure at the expense of work and instead lace up the boots to take my motorcycle out for a ride. Come on now- I live in Seattle where it's cold and wet...can you really blame me?
So I had a fabulous weekend- picked up a great college friend from the airport on Friday. We threw a dinner party at my house to celebrate. Nothin' like good friends, good food, and good booze- although I could have done without the thick smattering of Iraq war arguments.
Saturday we took a roadtrip to Portland to go to the Simian Sessions, a party at Disjecta thrown by some friends. Wow Kendall was a drunken party animal- a mirror of myself only a few years ago. Ooh- I think I saw my first SG in person. Does Siren have a new tattoo of a butterfly on her back now?
Sunday I made a fabulous tiramisu drenched in brandy, rum, and amaretto for a dessert party. So many sinfully delicious decadent deserts...mmm. A perfect ending to a great weekend.
Food for thought- so as I laid on the carpet enjoying my chocolate induced euphoria, I thanked my hosts for the fabulous idea for a party. I get such a sublime pleasure from making my friends happy and sometimes I just need the appropriate opportunity to do so. I love the fact that my friends make me want to be a better person.
