Wow, hard to believe July is over already. Still plenty of summer left to enjoy though.
I'm currently nearing the end of a seven-day work period due to the stat holiday messing with people's schedules. I really can't complain, because starting on Wednesday I get three days off, followed by a day of work, followed by two more days off. Best part? I get paid right in the middle of that, and none of it has to go to rent or bills. I'll definitely be hitting a bar on Friday, possibly go to a movie, and generally stop being a hermit long enough to see and be seen. Very much looking forward to it.
Work on the bustier is a bit slower than I expected since I discovered I can't actually pin the garment to the dressform. It's one of those adjustable dressforms that has a dial right in the center of the chest, precisely where I would need to hold the fabric in place. Oh well, I'll finish constructing the thing off the dressform and then use the form to get the proportions and fit right. It'll still work. After that I have a medieval dress to make for a queen in Macbeth by the end of October, and a blazer. It's going to be a busy couple of months, but I'm really enjoying it.
Anyway, back to the worktable...
