Jesus.
Just found out one of my very good friends has cancer. Stage 2 Hodgkins Lymphoma to be exact. Apparently, its a "good" cancer (easily treatable), but I haven't decided if she's just telling me that to make me feel better. I honestly don't know what to say. I'm a big believer in "everything is a lesson" but it's a harder pill to swallow when it applies to someone you love. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.
Edit: SO I have been mulling over the news all afternoon, and discovered something. Michelle (friend, above) and I met while working together - she actually trained me. I worked at said company for several years, where Michelle and I eventually wound up in the same department. The dept. we worked in had very little turn over, so we were all this tight knit group of about 10. This was a little over 5 years ago. Since then...
Michelle, 31 - cancer
Keri, 24 - cancer, died last year
Baseem, 26 - cancer
Theresa, 36 - cancer
Stephanie, 24 - Lupus
Ashley, 31 - Lupus
Summer, 25 - left because of undisclosed medical issues.
And then of course, my health problems. Does anyone else think that's a little too coincidental? Or am I nuts? I mean these are young people. I don't even know what to make of it.
