I've always been a fan of poetry. Written and spoken word. I've written for quite a while now. This is the first thing I've written for others to see. It's spoken word so bare with it as the emotion doesn't flow off of paper the way it does of tongues.
If you relate I'm sorry
You left before I was born
COWARD
I needed you!...

Painted the store today. There's still a few more touch up's to do tomorrow. Though tomorrow will mainly be moving supplies into the store. I'm so amped for the store to open.

I haven't heard the first one. I've heard Taylor Mali before.
Interesting selection, nice to see here on SG
My favorite poets are poeple who's names I forget. A one time performance at a comedy club downtown, a woman spoke about dating as a bisexual woman, well I suppose you'd have to be there, but it was exquisite. There is a cultural exchange center here and they are constantly having performances, from quiet little one light chair on stage things to great big theatrical productions with props and everything. Very California I think. For here anyway.
I keep thinking about those moccasins, I can't wait to go to the store. I'm not sure but if I remember correctly there are some great beaches in that area.
Oh and Jane is a magazine, a more brainy fashion magazine. -not a whole book-I'm not that good-yet![wink](https://dz3ixmv6nok8z.cloudfront.net/static/img/emoticons/wink.6a5555b139e7.gif)

Hi back to ya! I really like that second poem. I don't have much experience with performance poetry, but I know a thing or two about written poetry.
Some of my favorites are Anne Carson, Wallace Stevens, T.S. Eliot, Mary Oliver, Sherman Alexie, Louise Erdrich, and lots of stuff in Latin. I could go on all day . . .

Sometimes when I'm alone
I cry because I'm on my own
The tears I cry are bitter and warm
They flow with life, yet take no form
I cry because my heart is torn
and I find it difficult to carry on
If I had an ear to confide in
I would cry among my treasured friends
but who do you know that stops that...

Soft you day, be velvet soft,
My true love approaches,
Look you bright, you dusty sun,
Array your golden coaches.
Soft you wind, be soft as silk
My true love is speaking.
Hold you birds, your silver throats,
There golden voice I'm seeking.
Come you death, in haste do come
My shroud of black be weaving,
Quiet my heart, be deathly quiet,
My true love...

For those of us who delight in such things, the twenty first century has, in its unfolding, presented mankind with an array of behavioral paradoves and moral conundrums hitherto unimagined and perhaps unimaginable. Science, traditional enemy of mysticism and religion, has taken on a growing understanding that the model of the universe suggested by quantum physics differs very little from the universe that taoists and...

Have you ever noticed that sometimes no matter how hard we try we are always pulled back into the negativity. I was awoken last night by an old friend that I have not seen in almost a year. She came around to see if I would help her out in her court case against her former ex. ( my former best friend. ) Now I'm...

it sounds like drama you don't need for someone who you don't seem to want to help, and who sounds like she fucked you over. not totally knowing your situation i couldn't say, but just from what you said i would say don't get involved.
boxing_helena:
well in that case i guess it just comes down to how much you care about her....
If you had an extra $700 with all your bills paid in advance food to last tell the next paycheck. What would you buy??
I'm thinking maybe a digital camera or an ipod..could use some other input.
Well the whole gym thing has been going good as of late. I lost 8 pounds this week.
I've also met some very....um....interesting people there. Yep interesting. There...

Haunted by your memory
Tortured by your reality
Aching from our separation
Hurting from our lingering closeness
These foul games our minds play
Erasing the bad, magnifying the good
Remembering not in contexts
Just bits and pieces of the day
A cruel game played by the powers that be
Intertwining two souls
Destined never to be
Tortured by your reality

Hurting from our lingering closeness

Sorry for the caffeine induced 4:00am rambling/attempt at well I'm not sure what the hell I was attempting with this one....Think somewhere along the line it was supposed to be poetry. I could always fix it but I always leave my writings the way I first write them.
I can already help a little with Cherokee (Tsa-la-gi) and should be able to help with Navajo soon. Tribal webpages can sometimes be useful for what you're doing, too. Our tribe has all kinds of language-related stuff online, including sound files of people pronouncing words.
