Still in London. My initial wide-eyed-mouth-open wonder has worn off a bit, but I'm still enjoying every minute of my time here in the UK. The only drag, besides the weather, is that I'm not meeting anyone, owing partly to my own shyness, but also because this seems to be a very shy country. hmm, how to get around that? I guess I just have to stop worrying about being the bold, over-friendly American and just start saying Hi to random folks?

I foun when traveling abroad alone that it was difficult to meet people as well. I think your best bet is talking to people while standing in line for things, that's how I had my best experiences. I occasionally met people in hostels too, though that was more hit or miss.
