Never been good with blogs. I fall off the face of the Earth for a year and then decide to post something random again.
It's about that time.
Fellow New Yorkers, lend me your ears and maybe your bodies for about an hour or two...
NO NO, not like that, unless you're a woman and into that sort of thing... I'm in a label showcase...

NYC Fest was a bust. Apparently, after few years in existence, no matter how legitimate the organization seems, they always tend to do what people expect, and that isn't always the right thing. After being told by the promoter we'd likely make the finals, we didn't even make the notable list - and it was one of our best shows EVER. We made notables last...

So, here I am. I don't remember my last "update" or whether I could even call it that.
Random stuff:
I am in dire need of new music to listen to. None of that hipster bullshit stuff, either. If people in the band, or huge supporters of the band wear glasses with no lenses, scarves in June, skinny jeans tucked into their hush puppies, or...

Anyone like rock music? Birthday parties?
Anyone like the music scene (what's left of it) in NYC?
Bitter End on Aug 19th at 7PM begins a night of debaucherous partying and rockin' live music from a bunch of bands - including mine, and we're the ones throwing the birthday bash for our drummer.
If you're in NY and want a cheap night - Friday August...

Since last posting about one of the only things that I truly love doing (playing music), I've had my subscription expire and renewed it.
That doesn't seem like much, but that's all this site knows - outside of cyberworld, I've recorded a 3-song demo, participated in 2 battles of the bands (and so far done REMARKABLY well), and played a shit-ton of shows.
Why is...

New show coming up. Anyone interested in hopping across the river into the realm of Jersey, we're going to be in Hoboken on the 10th of November. It's the closest to a birthday show that I've ever come. We're not promoting it as a birthday show for me, but we're still going to put on the best frickin' show we can and would love for...

Um clearly, you ROCK! Thanks for taking notice of my sets!!
First show was a goodie. A surprising goodie. Surprising because I have low expectations of myself - I work with a Berkely grad drummer, and an experienced guitarist-turned bassist. I feel like the odd man out - any fuckup that night I was prepared to attribute to my own shortcomings.
There were few to speak of. Thankfully. And only ones I noticed (even better).
I've...

New band, new lease on a musical life.
Yeah, that's a little melodramatic. But the first half is definitely true - I am in a new band. And after over a year's musical dry spell. I mean, sure, I was writing and performing a little here and there, but now I'm part of something a little bigger than myself, and it feels very good.

Glad to hear it!!! Keep me posted on any shows you'll be playing! I can't wait to see pics!
Saw Spoon at Radio City Music Hall tonight. Not a big fan, but the tickets were free and I sat 5th row. Couldn't find a reason to complain. To top it off, I hung out with an old work friend of mine who I rarely get to see - result was a fun time.
Opening bands (and there were unexpectedly 2) were the "Strange Boys"...

Hipsters do NOT equal good music!
I need to make some changes. I need to become a more interesting person. I don't post nearly enough, or mayhaps it's a total lack of anything worthwhile to say. Or both.
Either way, I have to do something. Strange thing is: I'm geeky; I mean, I'm not widely read, but by no means am I thinly read. I am a musician (some might even...

Thanks for the kind words.
I meant to write you back before, too. You're very sweet to ask. I'll write when I can.
