It's been a little crazy here.
It's allergy season again, and I'm allergic to Texas. Back home I NEVER had allergies so I didn't realize how bad they could be but fuuuuck they can get awful. Apparently Texas even has a different name for them. Cedar Fever. Ugh. Huge vicious cycle for me. Affects the diabetes, then the fibro and next thing ya know I'm on bed rest. If it wasn't for the headache that came with I could play video games and surf online.
*gives the bad word finger to Texas 'Cedar Fever'*
We were GOING to go camping this weekend, despite the fact that I'm allergic to outside, but our poor dog Cooper ended up in the vet. He has a ruptured disk and was screaming in pain. A Xanax and a pot edible for me then a $300 vet bill later we found out that HE is now on bed rest. He can't jump off or on the couch, no activity, not even to take the ONE step off the porch for a month. Since he is used to taking care of me, we leashed him and opted to not put him in the recommended crate. Being close to us will help him heal more so than locking him in a cage but he is a dog and he doesn't understand that and is miserable. It's not all bad for him. Lots of attention and 'good boys', his cocktail of meds is nestled in a bit of peanut butter and we have pot treats for dogs but he still is not a fan of being tethered. WE know the alternative is the crate, or worse paralysis but he doesn't and won't give his special Cooper kisses. We constantly have to think about our actions and its extremely stressful for US, but he is happier out of a crate. WE can deal. Looks like me and him are going to stay stoned and cuddle...
For a month.
Don't get me wrong, Monkey (hubby) has plenty of flaws but some days I think he is a saint for marrying me. Or crazy. He doesn't mind at all taking care of me, and has even commented that it makes him feel useful to help and baby me when so much is out of his control.
Together, we are perfectly flawed and I wouldn't have it any other way.
It's a bad quality of picture as it was taken with my craptastic blackberry a couple years ago, but this is my favorite picture of my sidekick Cooper. Maybe next blog I will post one of the 'princess' Kiya.
Pic of me if anyone knows where we got her name from...

darkriver:
Monkey is a saint for who he is, and you are an angel in his kingdom. I'm keeping you and Cooper in my thoughts, get well soon. I also hope you can get to a more dry climate soon, somewhere to get rid of those allergies. Love you sweetheart
