very rough draft
When Angels Bleed
How can you sleep
When in your youth
You made angels bleed
More often than not
To look in the mirror
Is a freighting sight
Your eyes remain the same
Everything else is a distant memory
Of days and years gone
Except in the middle of the night
When the haunting souls of Angels
Come to visit as they cough blood
Put on earth to remind
All of us we are the same
Their message was that of hope
A generation to lead the next millennium
Still your courage did save
many more lives, by taking those
Handful of Angels
You tell yourself that
They leave your dreams
Was it a test
Did you pass or Fail
On the playground or in a Church
You catch a glimpse of them
For a split second
They look the same
Always in the distance
You can hear their voices faintly
As if the wind were
Bringing them to you from a thousand meters
Each night as they vanish
You wish them well
Followed by Im sorry
Sleep well my bloody Angels

Beautiful. Very haunting poem though... I hope it's not too much about your own ghosts.
