Friday night: dinner(1) at Iguacu, and a bottle of rather sweet Riesling. I like my wine sweet, and I'm not about to apologise to you. M chugged it down like a trooper because I refuse to drink red. Bless him.
So I'm very out-of-it by the time we get home, yet M, being a seasoned drinker (read: engineer), decides he wants to go out drinking...

I don't think I ever properly thanked you for starting that appreciation threa in the Vintage Beauty group, you are so darling! I can't believe it keeps getting bumped!

As for the protein, do you drink shakes? There are a ton of good hemp protein products out there. Hemp is a great protein for vegans, this Canadian vegan athlete has his own line of supplement powder, called Vega
I like the Berry flavour best myself. He's got tons of good tips on the website about vegan nutrition too.

Bill Bailey, 'Love Song'.

I was alone my heart was cold it was a stone
my soul was lonely like a stone - there was no moss.
And when I danced I danced alone but then I did not dance
because I was alone. So I did not dance.
I shuffled through life invisible to all the happy couples who would mock
me with their...

The vegan dinner was fantastic - great company and even better food, if that is possible.
Wheatmeat chicken is slightly unsettling... my mouth was replused by the 'realness' of the taste until my brain managed to convince it that yes, this is not actually dead flesh.
I have officially lost 10kg / 22 pounds in the last 3 months, as of today. Vegan + daily...

1) I have had malaria.
2) My first girlfriend cheated on me three times. Twice with guys. Suck!
3) She was also quite bad in bed.
4) My first cat was called Mushroom McGee.
5) Today my ex sent me flowers. I really hate excessive and inappropriate gifts.
6) I fall in love too easily. So...

I read the thread you started first thing this morning! I think the responses you're getting should be helpful, at least I hope so.

As someone said, most of our emotional reactions ahve nothing to do with logic, or with how we want to feel or expect to feel or think we "should" feel.

Given how good your skin is, I would definitely go with the adamantium grafts.

What would your superhero/mutant name be?

I am sorry about the toubles with the Ex. People can be such assholes sometimes.

I went to lunch in Fortuna buffet restaurant the other day. It's in the Sky Tower complex, but not actually up the Sky Tower. So no nice view, as opposed to the Observatory, up in the Sky Tower, with both a wonderful view and a great salad bar. I've decided that watching the masses eat, especially loud, crass people who stuff themselves, makes my skin...

The view I cobbled together from a childhood of D&D-based history learning and the odd Scientific American article was that the Greeks became a little lax when a few hundred years proved them to be militarily secure. They were some of the first to come up with formation fighting in combination with military discipline, which gave them an advantage over the herd. They had the mountains, which take the wind out of most armies sails, and while we're talking about sails, they had the triremes, which were the scariest things floating in that day & age. Unapproachable over the sea, unapproachable over the land... it took the determination and discipline of the Romans to finally crack that nut. How long did it take the Romans anyway? Can we claim that the Greeks were taken by surprise, on a civilization level?

Life here is pretty good. The final semester is fairly madcap, so I shouldn't be around here as much as I was last time. I do school, i climb, i sleep, i repeat.

And in my book, if you're helping people get laid and everyone comes out happy, you're not betraying any team. Except the stuffy people. Screw the stuffy people.

I really
REALLY
need to get laid.

Uh.

Not the most inspirational entry in the world. So here's my backup plan:

I'm researching Christ's depiction as a virgin in early Christianity (specifically, the conversionary Christianity preached to the Anglo-Saxons) and the problems (if any) this caused to necessary perceptions of him as a masculine warrior king.

On Sunday night I'm going to the Kiwi Music...

As ridiculous as that website is, they actually did get something almost right:

If her mate lacks self-control, he should develop his oral and manual skills at pleasing her. Few if any women can honestly claim that they can only be satisfied through penetration.

Studies show that a very VERY large percentage of women cannot orgasm from penetration alone.

The rest of it is ridiculous, though. ^_^

Ok right. I'm back from the dead. THE DEAD I tells you. If by dead I mean the flu (read: plague), which I do.

My man, Jason, and I have been together for two months and I've never been happier. It's awesome, I love spending days in bed at a time. In fact, I love spending any time with him at all.

I got my...

I met a man. A man with a plan. A Dom geek guy with a pleasing age-difference to myself and more than a large streak of Sadism.
The plan? To capture and seduce me, render me defenseless...

I'm pleased to report it fucking well worked.

One night at his place after a rather sexy live action Mage game (at 'Battlecry', Auckland's yearly geekery weekend, I...
