Right now I'm sitting in my room, listening to records and eating a mind-blowingly good bowl of my mom's chicken soup. This situation wins in every way.

A German Spectacle's first real jam is happening in less than seven hours. After three months of posting ads and wondering if we were ever gonna be a band, we finally have a drummer. I've yet to formally meet him, but my phone conversations with him indicate he's a pretty rad dude. So yeah, really excited that I'll finally be able to hear all these songs the way I intended them to be played. You know, with a full band and stuff.

Uni is... bleh. Still haven't bought my textbooks, and at this point I know that nothing productive can be done within the walls of my house - there's too much music, too much general chaos - expecially for someone diagnosed ADHD like myself. I might not act out like I used to when I was young, but I still get distracted really easily, which leads me to believe that I should spend some time in the campus library doing my work there.

One of my record orders came today from the States. 29 North order hasn't shipped yet, but it shouldn't take long.

After these orders I'm saving up for a new guitar. At this point I'm looking at the Gretsch Junior Jet, a Fender Telecaster, or, if I can really save up, my dream guitar - the plexi Ampeg Dan Armstrong. And speaking of guitars, I'm surprised I'm practicing as much as I do now. Perhaps I'm finally playing something that motivates me to practice and learn more so I can put more into my songs. It's a good feeling.

EDIT: Jam with our new drummer was amazing - his name is Robb; Brisbane people may know him from a local band called Quiet Steps and as an ex-member of the French Horns. He succeeded in blowing away Leo's and my expectations with what he does with the songs and by being a great dude to work with, as well. Give it two months or so and I reckon we'll be ready for shows.

Words cannot adequately describe just how psyched I am right now.

I totally agree that the link between female companionship and creativity is related. And, I feel as if I got one right then the other would come easily. If I was getting laid on a regular basis and if the girl was cute and not a total dead shit and I liked her then I would be happy most of the time which would breed creativity. On the other hand, if I hooked up some marginal success by either making a film or getting a band together that would be somehow recognised then I'm sure I'd have a lot more choice when it came to empty lays on the table.

This is why we have bad art in the world.

Given that above all else is my driving desire to be honest with whatever I'm creating you won't see me bowing down to popular demand any time soon. In fact, quite the opposite; I've been playing drums over the past few days, writing tracks by myself until my bassist can move his gear in next week. The objective with the songwriting; come up with shit that will make you pass out if you play it twice in a row. Really attempt to bridge the gap intensity wise. And since I've never heard such a thing on radio I doubt that once things get up there's a chance of too much recognition.

I'm fairly optimistic, albeit about the future.

Many thanks for your words sir, put an IOU from moi in your bank account/pants -- wherever you'll want the deposit tongue
