For my darling housemate:
Authority's shackles constrict the bloodflow to my potential
Unable to do a thing for fear of being told to do it right
If I could, I'd take a sledgehammer to every single alarm clock
Hold a bonfire to burn every train schedule and picket fence
Kick in every locked door and shout above every single radio
And one day it'll all be ruin, and I'll be everything I hate.
-
And one for me.
I've realised now I'm not supposed to know everything
These little surprises are not bricks in an insurmountable wall
Shut off our senses and let our minds stagnate
Frozen in time and content, suffocating in the sameness
These nights end the way we predicted so under the sun
And we say we've enjoyed the moment - we let ourselves down easy
Too easy.
Let's keep screaming as loud as we can, 'til we're hoarse and mute
Because maybe it'll change something.
