After that short trip back to the Coast, I am back in Brisbane - and this time, I have my fan to help combat the heat. It really makes an awesome difference. If all the people living in the house (myself included) weren't such poor-asses, we'd run the central air, but alas, too expensive for us. And judging from the rest of the stuff this place is fitted with, if we even touched it we'd probably end up breaking it.
Last night my friend/bandmate Leo came over to learn more Constance material, and it must be said that he's picking up all his parts much faster than I did back in the day. Much like I was when I joined Constance, he's a guitar player playing bass, but I'm sure he'll improve the more he plays and take pointers and whatnot from Sam and I. Also, I take full credit for getting him absolutely hooked on lo-fi black metal and mid-90's emo. I just burned him a CD with more material from the aformentioned genres, as well as some Emperor, Hsker D, and Dungeon included for good measure.
Have you ever known someone that has the power to make you smile or turn you on with pretty much everything they do? Luckily enough, I do, but unluckily, she's taken. Still, when I saw her tonight, the first time I'd seen her in months, that's exactly what she did - just like she has since I met her about a year ago. She's coming over later in the week, and even though I have a major crush on her and she's in a relationship, she's cool as a friend, too, and just hanging out with her is enjoyable. I only hope that it doesn't stay as strictly a friend thing; a man can dream...
In a few days I'm trading my first-pressing vinyl copy of Morbid Angel's "Blessed are the Sick" for an ultra-limited Mayhem "Mediolanum Capta Est" picture disc - only 666 copies were pressed (how necro!) - much less than the standard 10,000 for Earache releases. This is the first record trade I've ever done, it's gonna be sad saying goodbye to one of my precious children... but I think it's a fair trade. Besides, I like Mayhem more than Morbid Angel. Now that's necro.
Oh, and I'm still listening to those two Weezer albums. I'm fucking addicted.
