Damn... loaded day. Went around doing errands and other stuff in 33 degree heat. SO MUCH FUN. But, I digress.
My day really started in the early hours of morning with me being unable to sleep. I tend to get one-night bouts of insomnia every now and then, and luckily enough, this one landed on the night before an important interview. So, I went to bed at around 3, got NO sleep whatsoever, and heard the alarm go off at 8:15. I reset it to go another hour, and got exactly one hour of sleep. w00t.
Was I home free from problems after that? It's never that easy. I got stuck in traffic on the way to the Tsunami offices, ended up going a different, longer way to avoid it all, and got to the office with mere minutes to spare. Got the call from the call centre saying Mr. Gabel would be only a second, and I'm put on hold for three minutes. Then, the same woman comes on the phone and says that she can't get a hold of him and is getting a voicemail, and that she'll call me when she finds him.
An hour passes.
I call her, only to get told that it's being rescheduled. And do tell, why the fuck did I have to call Sydney to get this information? And not just Sydney, a Sydney number re-routed to a call centre in FUCKING INDIA. Wow, wonder how much that'll cost the magazine? Pricks.
The interview has been re-scheduled for Friday @ 11 AM. Of all the people I'd be on the recieving end of rock star bullshit from, Tom Gabel was close to the bottom of the list. I'm disheartened, to say the least. However, I got four CDs to review, which was cool, and went on to do my other stuff.
Went to the Plaza - bought hair dye (black - I'm tired of redoing these red streaks all the time), went to the post office, hung out with someone for a while, then got on a bus to university. To the girl that complimented my band and played with my hair on the bus... that was cool.
Got to uni, filled out my deferrment form, and it's official - I'm free for a while, and one of the main steps to me living in Brisbane is now done. Sweet.
I'll be making my hair a fine shade of "Licorice Black" sometime tonight, probably after my night-walk. If there are any protesters that want the red to stay... make it quick and speak up!
