Oh my God... I'm so excited And sad, all at the same time. Mostly excited.
I had my very first day of training at Olive Garden today, it SO rocked!!! It was fuckin skippy. I'm so stuffed right now, I can't even begin to tell you. It's awesome.
I got there at 9am (More like 8:45am, I wanted to be prompt ) I was training with a class of three other people (Um, Dan, Brian, and I can not remember the girl's name...Jill maybe...?), with one waitress training us (Karen).
We started our day by drinking coffee. RIGHT ON!! I hadn't made any before I left the house, so the fact that I was getting to drink any was just incredible. Besides the fact that I just love Olive Garden's coffee, it's awesome. So, we got our coffee, and waited around for a fourth trainee that never showed up. We worked on paper work, and watching a whole slew of boring training videos.
Next, we take a smoke brake, watch MORE videos (I think we wound up watching nine total) and then Karen tells us that she hopes we're hungry, cuz we're going to be eating food at one o'clock. By this point, I'm getting kinda hungry. Smelling the food all day... I was really glad we got to sample some. So, we watched more videos, took two tests, took another smoke break, refilled on coffee, and came back in for food.
So we're sitting there with our coffee (or other assorted beverage of choice) and Karen brings out three wine glasses for each of us, a fork, napkin, and small plate. Then, she brings out course number one: Breadsticks and five house sauces. She says eat as much breadsticks and sauce as we want, so we're seriously munching on some bread. She pours us each three glasses of wine, each a third full and a different type of white wine. We got a third glass each of Reisling, Pinot Grigio, and Chardonnay, the wine we have to save for the appetizers and main courses. So, for the mean time, lots of breadsticks
Then, we get a full bowl of Minestrone. Sooooooo good!! Lots of veggies, really good tomato based broth, pasta shells, really good soup. We talk about the ingredients, and write them on our Pre-Menu Test.
Next, comes the appetizers. First our is the Fried Calamari (yum!!!) then comes the Bruschetta (also yum!!). One guy is allergic to seafood, and the girl doesn't like calamari. Me, Dan and Karen spilt the Calamari, and had two slices of Bruschetta, the girl and Brian had the rest, and more breadsticks. We sampled each of the wines with each of the appetizers, talking about which brought out which flavors better. Then, next course.
Next out, comes two entrees. One is Chicken Giardino, the other is Seafood Portofino (yuuuuuum!!) We each take a fourth, eat, and pick which wine goes with which. The chardonnay and the Seafood Portofino was amazing together, they were both really buttery, and just brought out the flavor of each other incredibly. It was awesome. I wound up eating half, cuz of non-seafood-eating Brian. Then, more entrees...
Next out comes the Salmon Piccata and the Tuscan Garlic Chicken. (omg!!) By this time, we're all stuffed, can't eat anymore, but we keep eating. We sample the wines with the entrees, write them in our Pre-Tests, take another smoke break, and come back in for dessert.
Dessert comes out, it's Lemon Cream Cake. OMG!!! It was amazing. It was so good. I haven't eaten real food in a while, I've been eating Ramen and burritos for the past couple months, and today... it was awesome. The dessert made my day
So after all that, I got to come home.
Now for why I'm sad, this is shorter. I got home at about five o'clock. My b/f had to do some super fun excercising this morning for the navy. I got home, the house was all dark, the puppies were underfoot as usual, and had torn up some paper that was EVERYWHERE!! I walked back to the bedroom, he was reading waiting for me. We talked for like ten minutes, and then had to go to sleep. He's gotta wake up at ten to leave for work again, so I won't see him again until tomorrow afternoon I know, it's a stupid thing to be so sad over, but I got so used to seeing him every day since I haven't been working, and I haven't seen him since we were sleeping and he left at 4am, and I won't see him again until 5pm tomorrow. Stupid, I know, so I'm goofy.
But it was a good day. MORE food tomorrow, and more wine and more videos. Then probly more of the same the day after. Friday I'll finally get to take a table of my own, and next week I'll be on my own with no more training.
So yay!!
Oh yeah, and we're most likely (cross your fingers) closing on the house this Wed. finally!!!! So we'll be able to move in on Saturday, and finally move out of this frickin neighborhood. Yay!!!!
So, I'm REALLY full, I'm gonna go find some rolaids.
Hope your day is going well Talk to you later.

Today I work at 4, and until then I will be looking at job opportunities in my area. I really need to get back on the 9 to 5 shift...
So how're you doin?
Oh, and being sad when you can't see your man isn't stupid at all. I get the same way. Love will do that to you!
I hope you get your house, too.
