yesterday i went to the graduation of a former student of mine (in karate). she was graduating middle school and after weeks of pestering, in a very nice way of course, i went.
it was a nice ceremony, i sate there with her mother and father, and the father is quite funny, he's all dissing the middle school band who, quite honestly, were playing bady...but i thought to myself, that is the epitamy of normal...
you go and watch a middle school band, and they suck so bad...but you see it in all their faces just how hard they are trying to play that boring song their teachers chose...
i loved it...
not the music, but the fact i was there witnessing it all...
this girl i went to see has grown up so much since i met her...she wore this very nice flamenco style black dress, and was one of three girls who had the same one...but she looked the best in it...this girl, whom i'd always seen in a gi or a tshirt and jeans, now, wearing makeup and a dress, and pig tails, which was rich...when i get the pics i'll be sure to post them up...
i hope no one messes with her in high school...
that place, as we all know, was like the wringer for most of us....emotionally, physically, and mentally.
but especially now...
as i looked around i saw little girls, no more than twelve or thirteen, wearing short skirts, and lots of makeup, and low cut shirts...looking more and more like 17 or 18...
i quote something this girl's mother said to me..."i fear for them, because they are wanting to grow up so fast and they haven't the slightest idea of the trouble that they are getting themselves into."
I sadly had to agree...because we all know that we should have the freedom to wear and act however we like, and be insure respect, and security...but there are people out there who neither respect, or have any intentions of insuring that security....
one thing is for sure, if i ever have a son or daugther i'll make damn sure that they learn at an early an age as possible, how to rip out the throat off anybody who tries to hurt them...

i just went to an 8th grade graduation ceremony on friday. as i sat there and looked at every kid as they filled down the long aisle i thought similar things. its amazing how you can actually tell now who will become a jock, who a popular cheerleader, which ones will become sluts, which ones wont make it, and which ones will absolutly hate it. yet for whatever reason they all seem to be in such a hurry to become these titles.
