it's sunny here in my part of cali for the first time in a month...
already weather forecasters are predicting extremely warm weather...

to break out that sun block and conserve energy by not using your air conditioner during the day...
which i feel rather defeats the purpose of having one...
speaking of energy, I wonder what gov. davis is up to....he's been rather quiet...

i had the strangest dream last night...
i was with my ex student, the one whose middle school graduation i had gone to...it was her first day of school, but it wasn't high school...it seemed to be elementary...
and, i guess i was there with her parents, seeing her off...
out of nowhere a man with frizzy hair and long goatee comes up to me,...

ooh cool it was like a big social commentary dream! Protecting a playground with tanks is taking 'tightened school security' a little far though.... let's hope it never comes to that!

the job market is horrible right now...i'm learning this the hard way...the only choices are going to school (which costs money), and the military, which although i have the greatest respect for, and god bless all the men and women who risk their lives to preserve the ideals of democracy...is sadly run by corporation who don't give a #$#%$ about any of or their sacrifices....

yesterday i went to the graduation of a former student of mine (in karate). she was graduating middle school and after weeks of pestering, in a very nice way of course, i went.
it was a nice ceremony, i sate there with her mother and father, and the father is quite funny, he's all dissing the middle school band who, quite honestly, were playing bady...but...

i just went to an 8th grade graduation ceremony on friday. as i sat there and looked at every kid as they filled down the long aisle i thought similar things. its amazing how you can actually tell now who will become a jock, who a popular cheerleader, which ones will become sluts, which ones wont make it, and which ones will absolutly hate it. yet for whatever reason they all seem to be in such a hurry to become these titles.

today it ocurred to me just how fulfilling manual labor is...to work with the big heavy tools, and lifting, and balancing...the mud on your hands and feet
to be able to take your shirt off and not worry about ties or starched shirts... feeling the blisters, and the way your body aches after a good days work...
the frustration and the satisfaction after it all...

It's always me, and I still have yet to figure out what makes a good story, or else I would have written one by now.

I'm sorry I can't be more helpful.

Did you get that idea from that book (the last samurai) you were telling me about? At any rate, I'll be sure to check it out. Sounds like you had a pretty good physical labour day on Sunday though, right?

And hey, I hear you about getting fed up with traffic, bills, and antidepressants! Just keep your chin up, mansmile

thanks for the welcomesmile I've really been enjoying the site so far.

I've never met anyone who's had a skunk dream before, so I'll need more info before I can comment on your GF's dream. The driving through a tornado one was easier b/c my ex had the same dream once and we spent lots of time figuring out what was going on. Ask your GF how she felt about the skunk and what else was happening in the dream, etc., the more details the better, then get back to me and we'll try to make sense of it.

my girlfriend can only remember this much...in the first dream, the skunk is a curiosity i notice, she warns me that i am going to get sprayed and i don't listen...i get sprayed...
the second dream happened in the exact same way...except it involved one of her sisters...she says she doesn't know which...tha is all...i know it's not much...but i hope it helps.
thank you

the first night i was in Manglaralto, a week after my grandfather died, and the place he was laid to rest i could not sleep, the air that i was breathing was suffocating me, and every little sound was amplified ten fold...including the barking of the dogs.
never had i ever, never had i since heard dogs bark in the manner they did that night...it was a bark of anger, mingled with fear...
it would circle the town...growing louder and louder, then it would seem further away, only to return again in circle...three times, that it got to the point where it was unbearable to me...i wanted to do something to shut those dogs up, anything! And it occured to me to simply go outside and start throwing rocks at them to quiet them...and as i decided to do this, a tall gainly man dressed in white and with long black hair walked by and my blood froze, and i couldn't move...this figure was the reason the dogs kept barking...and rather than go outside, something in me told me not to...
the next morning i mentioned this to my grandmother, and mother...
no man in this town, they said looked anything like that...as for the dogs, they had not heard them bark. but i swore up and down. "from which direction did the man come," they asked and when i told them that it was from the direction of cementary they simply looked at me all concerned and said,"then it is a good thing you didn't step outside."

you are right my friend...they've been to hell and back and lived to tell about it...i got into this discussion with my mother and grandmother today about the Bible, and i am sorry if this offends anyone, but it is something i find quite remarkeable and speciall, not for any religious reasons, but for what it stands for...four thousand years of a people, or peoples oral tradition.
As a civilized society we forget that in the beginning it wasn't christianity or judaism, or even buddhism. it was all traditions that went back before names...
the bible is a collection of all but a handful of this history...
and rather than find out about it, we make believe that we understand it and know what it is we should be doing, we use it as the basis of hate and wary and power...and it is this ignorance that angers me so much...to say that each story is a literal interpretation, like adam and eve...
Now who honestly believes that we came from just two people who just happened to have names when there existed none!?
with all we have come to learn about cells and DNA, this is not likely!
Buth did people 5000 years ago know about science, or cells? They just knew a baby came from a male and a female...and went with that...our progenitors, our original human mother and father.
