My love of Norwegian Black Metal has actually inspired me to try to learn to speak a little Norwegian. I bought myself a book awhile back entitled Norwegian in 10 minutes a day. How dorky am I right? It's certainly an interesting language, but it's kinda difficult at times. It has a lot of silent letters. For example, the word hvor (where) is pronounced "vor"...the h is silent. Also, certain words are just completely different than English. For example, jeg (I) is pronounced "yay".
What the hell?
I am called = Jeg heter (yay het-air)
I speak = Jeg snakker (yay snahk-air)
Look at me go!
