I would probably do the compilation, your own mix, maybe. It would depend on the person and how well I knew them. I know people who, if I were to encourage them to listen to Tom, would only like his early stuff, so I would lend them Small Change or something. But I also know people who I could lend Frank's Wild Years to first and be sure they'd take to it no problem.

I got the Tom CD for my Xmas, by the way, but thanks again for your offer, it was mighty good of you smile Still haven't listened to the whole thing, though, mainly cause the first CD was a bit of a disappointment. What I've listened to so far of Bawlers is great, though.

The first cd (is it Brawlers? It's brawlers isn't it?) just sounds very like the songs I like least from Mule Variations and real Gone. I like Tom the most when he's really experimental and surprising. Frank's Wild Years is probably my favourite albumen of his. 'God's Away on Business' is one of the more recent examples of what I like to hear from him. 'Hoist that Rag' is almost the only one that stands out for me on 'Real Gone'. But, yeah, Bawlers, so far, has a wonderful vibe to it. I hope I like Bastards, as well, I really do.
