Wow... I've been so busy with my new job and life and all that good stuff I missed the introduction of the Spring Cleaning that the site is doing. I have to say I'm not surprised and don't really think that it's entirely unnecessary or uncalled for. It is a bit of a disappoitment because I'll have to censor myself a bit on those days when I'm not feeling like my normal chipper self.

Plus those stupid pointless threads were fun. And I loved it when someone would start a thread that was racist, aggressive, or simply some freak trolling for sex only to have it hijacked and turned into a bunch of silly jokes. It was fun for me because I'm not in the 105 and for a minute I felt like one of the "cool kids" and got a kick out of it.

But I understand all of the thought that went into the decision and honestly I have to say that nearly everytime (I'm human so it's not everytime) I said something snarky or slightly confrontational I regreted it and felt bad for the tone of my comment. I am really painfully nice and have to say that if it weren't for the fact that you can't always get someone's tone on the net it would be obvious to all.

But today my journal is for the departed. Julie is a beautiful person who has experienced a great deal of pain in her life and I am sad she is gone after she recently returned to my friendslist. We may not have always been in agreement but I know she has an amazing heart and I'll miss her beautiful face.

BUT... all of this is a good time to step back and take a good honest look at ourselves. Are we behaving as we would to people we love? Because everyone is someone's brother, friend, daughter, grandfather, aunt, etc. Patience may not be our first instinct but personal development isn't the easiest either. We should all remember who we aspire to be and do our best not to disappoint ourselves. It's only human to be flawed, but as humans we set ourselves apart from the rest of the animals on our planet by our intellect and choice.

*group hug*

Now nobody else from my list better get the zot cause I'll be seriously bummed. There is now no excuse!

Thanks for the affirmation. I needed that. It's nice to know people like you are out there fighting the good fight.
