I was philosophizing about death in the car today. My mum's friend, Jeannie, has just been diagnosed with terminal cancer. She's a precocious woman of 60, and now she's not working and just going to have the time of her life.

What depresses me about it more than anything - for she'll certianly not let herself get depressed over it, so I have no reason...

It's funny, our lists of things we want to do before we cash in our chips is pretty similar. I want to do everything on your list except perform on broadway and that's simply because I lack the talent and presence to do so. Flip the piercings & tattoos and you have mine. I'd like to get my other ear pierced as having both done is acceptable for guys nowadays. Even the few moments I'd spend on the couch with the one person who really "gets" me would be time of value because it would be quality time together that you very rarely get to have.

This is not the world of our fathers' where we get to go to work at nine and leave at five and everything is forgotten until the next day. This is the world of always working, always striving and I hate it. It's why I chose to get into massage therapy. I get to help people, achieve something with every moment I am working and I can still have all the time to do those things I want to do. It isn't like my old life with deadlines and project due dates. It's a life of work because I like to work when I want to work. I get to play all the other times.

Now, I just need the person who "gets" me to appear. Know what I mean?

No, not even a vote. I'm a registered Democrat in a Blue State, and the letter was sent through Barbara Boxer's political action website.

Your problem could be stress, but the headache and the nausea are brain tumor and hemorrhage symptoms. I'd still advise a doctor's visit. Your problem might be nothing, or it might be deadly.

Glad to hear things are a little better. You know how I worry.

I'm thrilled. I'm on SG at last! I've been taking the tour over and over, and finally someone really fabulous and generous paid for my account.

I'm getting another piercing in each ear! I'm seriously extatic. As soon as I've got the time, I'm going. I think I'll go with my best friend, S, next we get the chance. We'll make a big event of...
