i've been missing some of my past friends quite a bit lately...but i'm too 'proud' to call them.

on a brighter note...free studio time = my favorite phrase ever.

so, i've got to believe that i should be sleeping. i kind of quit though a few months ago kind of purposefully and kind of accidentally.

on the one hand, sleeping is a total waste of life, on the other, i'm basically a zombie to some degree.

go to bed at 4...wake up at 8...guzzle coffee numerous times a day...my doctor friend told me i...

is toronto cool? i don't know much about it, and the friend i plan to visit just says how we should go to montreal so... i think you might be dead on about it being an omaha of sorts. omaha seems like an enigma though... are there any bands that have sprung out of there which weren't touched by bright eyes' golden hands?

the idiot is kind of tragic and lovely... how was the gambler? i heard that he worked on that during the day while writing crime and punishment at night (don't think i'll ever get arond to reading c&p though... wink )

cny was great. you should have made it.

so i finally have a picture....isn't this exciting!?!

in all honesty, i've had this on my computer for awhile, and I've just been too damned lazy to re-save the file at a size permissable by the site.

a friend of mine painted this picture a few years ago, and I ended up using it as a CD cover w/ a little alteration (the "photo" quality...

llona:

i'm so helpless when it comes to women...

a pretty face and i'm all tripping on myself...and of course i can't call her b/c i'm a chickenshit. if you could trace my brain wave to call this girl down my spinal cord, through my arm, into my fingers you'd see it abruptly smack into a wall right before it presses the send key on my...

So Wilco was pretty sweet last night. I saw them last year (?) supporting Yankee Hotel and it was a fairly surreal show. This year they were more about rocking out.

Then on to the Earl that I just don't frequent enough. Maybe when I move to L5P.

Anyways, hope the SG community's doing well.

As always, check out my site @ www.erikmusic.com

smooshfacedlion:
I saw Wilco in Austin on the 18th. They were so frickin' good, and played for over 2 hours which isn't a common thing these days. One of the best shows I've been to in a long while.
smooshfacedlion:
No, I didn't go to the festival. They played in Austin the night before they played the festival. I was going to go to ACL but Wilco was really the only band I was dying to see there so I saved my money and went to their show. They were only scheduled to play for an hour at ACL, so I'm sure the first show was much better. That was a fucking hot weekend too. I'm glad I didn't go the festival for that reason alone. I would've liked to have seen Elvis Costello though.

So I'm going back to school on Mon. to officially succumb to societal pressures to get a 'real' job....since I don't have a job at all right now, I guess any job would do....but wouldn't it be nice to hold onto idealization a little bit longer. I have all these ambitions and will school help fulfill these at all. I doubt it. But, it looks...

Don't go...we can pretend this night is still young.

Empty bottles and cigarettes. The damage already done.

Swallow my pride past the lump lodged in my throat.

Breath of fresh air chokes on ashes and dust.
