Dead Snake Band record is complete. Phil is bringing by the final mixes tomorrow.
The Mumlers just got back from Montana. It was so much fun, and Whitefish Montana is a hell of a place to get away and make some music. 15 songs tracked in 4 days. One day to dump it all down to 192k 24 bit ProTools HD and also multi out to the Sonoma DSD (that's direct stream digital. It is the most analog sounding digital there is. period. should mix this for the vinyl release of the record) Here are some image highlights:
In the van on the way to Montana:
The murky moon as we arrive in Portland:
This is us moving into the recording studio in the hills of Whitefish Montana:
Here is where I slept for 5 days:
Here is the amazing studio that we recorded in:
William playing guitar and singing in the iso booth;
And when shit goes down...... you pull out your knife;
A couple shots of me enjoying the 19 hour drive home:
Doctor / Nurse is about to record some tunes at the Locust st. studios here in SJ. Much more of an experimental thing than a rigorous thing.
The Mumlers have just been told that we've been invited to play NoisePop this year in beautiful SF. I love this festival. I'm so happy that we get to be a part of it.
Although i'm really busy with work and music i don't seem to be getting tired like I used to. I seem to be filled with a certain sense of optimism and joy. Maybe it's the inverse of the whole winter/worst time of year thing. It would be fitting, no?
I fell in love with a girl at the local Panera Bread today. Didn't talk to her, just stared like a fucking lunatic. Way to go smoothie.
