Tinder Surprise
After finding myself alone in a whole new “single” world looking to meet people to hang out with , I decided to download Tinder.
People have been raving about this app for so long, I thought what could all the hype be about?
Well after installing the app, I may have become slightly addicted to swiping left more so than swiping right if you know what I mean. It’s a pretty superficial app I must say…. Very similar to those old “Hot or Not” games of the past. Every guy has a gym selfie or a snowboard selfie and most girls have a ass shot of some sort.. I just went with my normal self hoping that my witty attitude would win some votes.
That being said, I had the chance to “right swipe” some pretty cool people and struck up some pretty great conversations. Some of which I even had the pleasure to meet in person. I was warned that this is an app strictly for “hookups” which scared me at first.. but this has not been my experience. In fact I am not really into that whole hook up culture.. maybe I am too old school for that madness.
What does irks me, is that people are not up front about what they want.. or say that communication is key, speak to that for days and neglect to tell you that they are not looking to see anyone right now?!?!
If you want to hang out in coffee shops and chat and become bestie.. I am cool with that.. If you want to hook up, be forward and upfront.. if you aren’t ready for anything.. stay the fuck off the app.. it’s very misleading.
Anyways.. after about a week of experimenting with the old tinder.. the flame has sizzled out.. I have moved back to my old ways of meeting people in person… Tinder, you are a big ole bag of surprises.
