So I went to Italy for our big bad spring break last week. On the way though, I stopped in Brussels Belgium for a night and half a day to see the Einstruzende Neubauten concert. For those who dont know who they are, they are an experimental german rockish type band. A really good concert, though I probably would have enjoyed it more if I...

a great quote to sum up how i feel. right now i'm trying to decide this: should i ask out this one girl from my study abroad group? let's call her Girl J. the issues that arrise are that i have a...

madrid, spain. very nice and lovely weather. i was a bit surprised at how similar the landscape and architecture in spain was to that of mexico. i'd didn't want to be in the mindset that mexico=spain, but there were more similarities than i thought there would be. reminded me of what mexico might look like if the spainish had settled...

sorry for what happened to you after the sg gathering.... fuck the french!
you're right about the meetup. but most of all of us, we met each other for the first time so the idea was not to grab ass or whatever, just talk and get to know each other a little more. a sort of continuation of sgland in the real world.
it was nice to meet you though we didn't talk very much.

wow, i'm behind. two weekend ago i went to amsterdam. it was nice, except for the fact that they're renovating half the city right now. one side of the canal of the main strip of the red light district is nothing but dirt and boards to walk on. the rijksmuseum was also being renovated, and i did not feel like paying 10 euro to see...

first, the town. maasticht is a great little college town in the southern most part of the netherlands. it has a really nice homey quality to it. think...

No, I just made it up. I've never read "Johnny the Homocidal Maniac." Do his t-shirts change to express his mood, too?

oh the irony. this semester i met a girl in my anthropology class. she was incredably cute and had interesting things to say, so i asked her out. she said yes and we had tea. it was very nice. i asked her out again next week but she said she was really busy. i asked her the week after that...

ugh, school's almost done. or at least that's what i keep telling myself. i have two papers to finish tonight, one of which is a research paper that no one knows how to do. i've chosen to put a bunch of charts and stuff on it and write some shit. i'll try to do a good job when my professor tries to teach. then i...

you're absaloutely correct. I've had such a negative outlook on everything lately, which defys everything I am trying to change. I guess december is that one month that makes everything feel like more pressure. Christmas. Buying gifts. My birthday. etc.
I promise I will make the most of it, and be positive.
Thank you.

school's almost over and i couldn't be happier. i failed my research test uterly and totally, though it wasn't entirely my fault. the teacher as smart as he is, can't teach worth a shit. i wrote a nice long letter on the last page about how unfair i thought it was. two more papers to do, neither of which i'm prepared for and then finals....

pretty boring, though not entirely. went to work a couple times and got a few hours in. lazyness and snow kept me from working more. i'll have a whole month and a half over winter break to drive myself crazy making copper fairies and dancers. yay. um... oh yeah (!).

I think maybe the main difference is that aloneness is a choice, while loneliness is thrust upon you, or rather, you find that you have stumbled into loneliness and have somehow become trapped there.
