Pretty city.

No accounting for taste. Public art in this city don't add up.

The Chihuly glass sits in the corner, in a court yard, across a reflection pool, next to rather ordinary highrise condominium. The dozen or more pieces are a treasure. The anthesis of the artisan in the industrial age. If the price of the collection was not enough, an enormous glass and...

I love a lot of Chihuly pieces. Blown glass can be very evocative. Some of the chandeliers are amazing. So delicate, so colourful, so gigantic. But that piece on Bute St. really does nothing, does it? Nothing but a name. A lot of the pieces down at the park at Beach Ave are just funny. And that piece floating in the water? Where is it? Down beach, east of the Granville St Bridge, left over from Expo. You know the one? I do like the little rocket ship over by Granville Island, though. I'd like to put a space suit on and do a pinup shoot sitting on top of that thing. That'd be fun. I wonder if I'd get arrested.

1 Corinthians, chapter 13

Love is patient and kind; love is not jealous or boastful;
it is not arrogant or rude. Love does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;
it does not rejoice at wrong, but rejoices in the right.
Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Older I got. The more patient...

Granny.

The scruffy tortoise persian waits at the curb. My cat. Day before last. Waits for the truck to pull up. Never done that in the past.

Looks straight into my eyes. In the gleam of the head lights, through two silver blue pools, see to the bottom of her little cat brain.

Followed to the door. Never more than three steps this way or...

The funny looking little bald guy, the real wheel, rolls out the door with his one hundred and forty million dollars. Throws a kiss over his shoulder and spits a pithy piece like "so long suckers" or "see you in the funny papers". Squeeze a super model or might kiss a chimp. All in a day's work. Not bad if you can get...

A king , the peasants, and magical animals like all chinese legends. It's best to think of the harvest moon. It's the day after the full moon every year this time of year. And there's cake.
