The day before Thanksgiving until New Year's Day is one of my favorite stretches of time. I love having my tree lit up, especially all day on Saturdays and Sundays. I love the chill in the air. That being said, I loathe the pressure that so many people seem to feel to buy things and spend disgusting amounts of money in order to attempt to make people happy. Now, I'm not religious by any means. In fact, I'm an atheist. However, I strongly feel tha tthis time of year is about being good to others in ways that should not always involve a lot of money. Often, it seems like people care more about getting stuff than being with people. I guess if you're relatives are assholes, that's a different story. In general, I wish people were nicer to others and took more time to tell those important to them how important they are.
I just started The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. Can't stop reading it! The movie looks bad-ass.
