How does Love speak?
In the faint flush upon the telltale cheek,
And in the pallor that succeeds it; by
The quivering lid of an averted eye--
The smile that proves the parent to a sigh
Thus doth Love speak.

How does Love speak?
By the uneven heart-throbs, and the freak
Of bounding pulses that stand still and ache,
While new emotions, like strange barges,...

My favorite part is:

The eye that glistens with an unshed tear--
The joy that seems the counterpart of fear,
As the alarmed heart leaps in the breast,
And knows, and names, and greets its godlike guest--
Thus doth Love speak.

I can relate to that overwhelmed, fluttery feeling.

Anticipation can be glorious but also excruciating.

Everything is fine on the outside, but it most certainly is not on the inside.I suppose you could say I'm feeling better. I'm sick of the up and down, though I suppose that's to be expected. After much thought, I've decided I would benefit from some type of anti-anxiety medicine. I've tried so hard for so fucking long to control my constant out-of-control anxiety and...

I do not know why I continually get my hopes up. Every time I do so, they are continually destroyed in a fucking heap of fire and sadness and misplaced emotions. Yet I continue to get my hopes up. I don't think I'll ever learn. Ever.

Never a good feeling.
But honestly, I think I prefer being someone who has their hopes dashed than being someone who generally assumes certain things just wont happen or work out.
I hope you are feeling better.

I love your new profile picture! ^_^ Very handsome.

This combines two of my favorite things on Eartth: watching a woman orgasm and literature.
Hysterical Literature

A friend shared this with me. Thank you. You know who you are. wink

I'm officially on summer break. It's quite bittersweet - emphasis on the bitter part. I was not ready to send my incredibly awesome 7th graders to The Evil (my name for the horrible teacher in...

Disclaimer: I don't intend the following blog entry to be self-loving or to come off as conceited. I simply want to give you a glimpse into my teaching life and what means he most to me as a teacher and as a man.

As some of you know, I am the honors society adviser at my school. I've been doing this for 10 of my...

This is really touching! I'm also a teacher and I love to teach, so I felt totally related to your story.
Very inspiring and motivational. Thanks for sharing blush

BTW:awesome Han Solo case!
sorchablue:
This is all so wonderful! I have so many teacher friends and know how important these sorts of moments and victories are. I'm so happy you had that wonderful evening, and very glad that you shared. You totally deserve to celebrate and share that joy. It sounds like you are the sort of teacher that I remember from my grade school years. The ones that really care and really help you grow definitely stay with you always. So glad for you and for all of your lucky students that get to experience being taught by someone who so clearly loves doing what they do and truly cares about the students in their care. What a gift!

Also, that is a freaking awesome iPhone case!

The school year is certainly winding down (my last day with students is June 5) and with it has come the annual feeling of wistfulness. I plan on writing more about this when the school year is officially complete. I adore my students this year. I'm already starting to miss them.

On the other hand, I certainly can't wait to get away from many of...

*Sigh* It's why I prefer to get tasks done on my own, to avoid dealing with someone else's work ethic (or lack thereof.) You never can tell who's heart is in a job for the honorable reason, and I know a thing or two about working with people who only care about the money side of the business.

But fantastic yearbook idea!

If you haven't had the esteemed privilege to attend a middle school/junior high recently and have been dying to know what goes on at one, you're in luck.smile Last night, I was in charge of the dance at my school. Here are some musings.

Many kids put a genuine effort into looking nice. Others wear dirty t-shirts and sweatpants. This makes for an interesting combination....

i like your artwork smile
sorchablue:
O.o! I had a whole response typed out, and then my internet decided to glitch and erase it. Bummer! I basically said something like:
I really like your artwork. It's interesting, and you use an interesting mix of mediums. I also rather like that you favor collage, since it is generally underrated I think. I am curious where you find the different elements, like that sheet music, and some of the images. I just like learning about creative processes. Everyone has their own, and I think there's such interesting things to learn from each other.

That also sounds like it was an awesome letter to get. I love letters. I think there is something wonderful and intimate about handwriting a letter, and about receiving one. I also think they are great for when you can't see someone in person, but having something to share with them or tell them, and it would be difficult to articulate on the phone. I don't particularly like the phone all the time, though. It can feel strange and impersonal. On that point, I completely agree with spreading the love around and telling people that you care about them. Too many people just assume others can tell without you having to say it. The impact of hearing you matter to someone is just amazing, though. What a gift.
