So I just graduated college with my bachelor's in political science, and I've got at least a year before I want to pursue law school. The settlement from my motorcycle accident was resolved days before graduation, and the money was burning a hole in my pocket. Only half serious one night, I joke with my dad about how cool it would be to get a classic muscle car as a project car. We laugh and I start looking online just to see how out of my budget these cars are. Most are, but when I searched for a Gran Torino, I saw it. A beautiful green 1972 Ford Gran Torino with white leather interior, in fantastic shape, for sale in my price range only 40 minutes away! Suddenly I wasn't joking about it anymore. That Saturday, I had a free afternoon and impulsively drove to the dealership. Checked it out. Brought my dad out. Me and the dealer couldn't agree on a price and I thought that was it....until I got a call late that night asking to meet in the middle. I drove it the next morning and it was mine! I named her Esmeralda, and I'm so happy I have a car I've always dreamed of having. She needs some work, fresh coat of paint and some TLC but that's why I bought her. I've had a blast working on the engine the last few weeks, and I know my dad is loving it too, bringing him back to when he was my age and owned his own muscle cars. I still can't believe this is real =D
