From the annals of Why Does This Shit Happen to Me?
Most guys will tell you that they can tell when some dud is trying to get their woman. The biggest sign is how the guy reacts to your presence. A guy after you current squeeze will probably not talk to you. He will try to be that guy who is her friend that she can talk to. He will be cordial to you but never try and be your friend.
My last gf had a friend like this. He was extremely jealous of me. It seemed the only thing he could one up me on was being emo. I remember 2 specific instances. One was that we were both into medival recreation. There is actually a picture of me about to beat his ass in my pics folder. I used to beat his ass regularly at fighter practice and in tournaments. He would get very violent in his attempts to win. Very bad thing to do when you are in combat. I had 10 years of experience on him though. The second was in a Denny's one night and he was trying to bash on me. He had friends in the other booth and his machismo was getting the best of him.The type of guy I am, in a level tone told him that there was no way he was going to get her away from me . There was a long thorough explnation of why. Mostly consisting of me telling him that if he ever did she would resent him the rest of the time they had together. I even made her tell him right there in front of everyone. Of course she left me for a friend of mine but, that is an entirely different theory.
For this reason whenever I have a friend, male or female, I try to be friends with their s/o. Hell they are whatever with each other so they have stuff in common, I must have something in common with both of them. Right?
I am at a wedding reception with my friend Rob a few months ago. I am friends with his wife too. My loyalty lies with Rob because let's face it, he was my friend first. Rob and his wife are both bad drunks. We all had a shitload to drink and they start arguing. I usually let this stuff play out and don't let it escalate too much. In truth, it never usually does. I am listening to them bicker and getting a kick out of the creative insults when it happens. She balls up her fists and hits him with the 3 fastest right hooks I have ever seen. I stepped in between them and told them to chill out. She walks off from the party and he sits down. I have to give kudos to Rob, he never even looked like he wanted to hit her.
I'll continue this one later it is rather lengthy and I am sure you are getting tired reading by now.![biggrin](https://dz3ixmv6nok8z.cloudfront.net/static/img/emoticons/biggrin.b730b6165809.gif)

thank you so much for the comment in my journal... I'll think about keeping them up.
