Life is good. No matter how good though, most of us usually find something negative to focus on, and it tends to cloud up and rain on all of the good stuff. Last year -at least the first 7 months, was gnarly, and I had begun to think I was turning into a shitty bastard in my old age. Big changes happened, and I'm happy to say I'm only sometimes grumpy.... not shitty though. It's amazing how much of ourselves, our self worth, and overall state of mind can be affected by the company we keep, and more-so by how close they are to us. I'm still understanding this. At 41, I'm still learning. I can confidently say "I know, period" about some things (like- cake is delicious, but it'll make me fat), but at best, in this game of life, I am naive. The wisest of us is still ignorant, and there's far too much going on for anyone to know everything in their lifetime. No way. The most we can hope for is to understand what makes us happy, and what we have to do to get it.
There will be more changes a'comin this year. All for the better, and all positive.
Aaaah, Burleigh.
