Today I feel like shit. Probably through lack of sleep. Transplants have a way of fucking things up.
Still, it meant I felt that a big old caffeine high was in order for the morning, so I've been pouring espresso down my throat for a fair chunk of the day. And all that time my mind (unsurprisingly) was buzzing and shooting off on all kinds of tangents, and I got no work done. (I'm waiting for someone to set up Caffeine-Fiends Anonymous.)
And what I was thinking was, why do we do this? Why write our thoughts down for scrutiny by the world? Why do we think that we're so important that people will want to read our thoughts?
Well, I suppose this has been debated to death, both in our minds and on the pages of the media (and I include this). But sometimes we say something important. Like SG Vanessa's journal entry for 11th October felt really important; I still can't quite believe how brave it was. People treating other people badly, and the effect it can have. The importance of caring for other people and treating them well. Doing to others as you would hope to be done to. No sniggering at the back please.
I suppose, though, I should start practicing what I preach. Making catty comments is one thing I have a real problem with...
