hello SG peeps. i've had a busy couple of weeks.
two weekends ago, we had two shows. one in sonora and the other in sutter creek. sonora was friday evening, music in the park. that show wasn't too fun because even though we had a croud, they weren't interactive. most people stayed about fifty feet away and just sat there in their lawn chairs. i got home around 11 pm, then promptly got up at 6 am, so i could make it to my motorcycle safetly class. that was over at around noon, i came home and napped until 3. then I took off for sutter creek at 4. we played until 1:30 am and i made it home by 2:30 am. and again, was up promptly at 6 am to make it to the motorcycle safety class at 7 am. i almost told the instructor i was going to go home, but toughed it out. i passed the course. huray!
i took Monday off to recover from the busy weekend. i ended up going to the DMV that day to take my permit test and passed. of course, the bastards accidentally punched my old drivers license because the receptionist mis-read it and thought it was expired. she appologized, but that doesn't help me buy beer. with a baby face like mine, it becomes a little difficult without propper ID. so, i received my completion cert from the safety school on thursday. i had a beer w/my father on friday then..
played a show in the city last saturday (san francisco to you non cali peeps) we had a pretty good turn out and only ran up a $70 bill on the bar tab. (our pay was in beer, how sweet is that). if you're ever in the area, i suggest you check out the brainwash cafe. the most intersting laudrymat on the planet. great food, live music, beer, web access and pin ball. what else could you ask for, oh, yeah, you can do your laundry too.
we had practice on sunday, which was pretty kewl. our vocalist and lead guitarist moved into a new house and now we actually have room to move around.
i turned in my permit and completion cert on monday, so i should be getting a propper ID in the mail sometime next week with an updated photo and that little M-1 on the top that says i can ride my bike legally.
i also found out that on Sunday, my sister's dog was struck by a car and didn't make it. i loved that dog. i've known it since i was 17 years old, (i'm 27 now) and practically raised it. the wife and i are going to bring her a nice enchelada dinner tonight and some booze. nothing helps ease the pain of loss like comfort food and inebriation. damn. i miss that dog...
