Well my mom owns a small mom n pop store. Sadly most days I loose my mind. :p But every now and then I get to have feel good days. Like years ago we had a little girl about 4 years old that loved the little green bug juices. I made sure we carried it just for her. To hear her come in and sqeeee with delight to her father or mother that we had it. It was music to my ears. We do things like that for around here. We try and have those things that no one else has or things that people haven't seen since they were kids.
Then there are other times I get to help people. Awhile back I had a young lady, I'd say 18-21, come in to prepay for gas. Well our store has old pumps that we can't preset to shut off. So that means whom ever is pumping needs to stop it. Well it was busy so I couldn't watch what she was doing. When I looked I see that she'd gone $28.00. Big oops. Another young one that doesn't understand old pumps. :p So I tell the other worker it looks lie she might drive off. So I head out to talk to her. I notice she's on her cell phone. So I get myself into a spot so I can see her plate. I see an out of state plate, like mid-west, so far away from "home". As I'm getting ready to take a snap shot of it I over hear the girl say to her mom I just got gas I can't really afford. So my heart sank even lower. She did get into her car and was going to start to drive off. So I tap on her car to get her attention. She got out and I tell her what she did and immediately she breaks down. I reach out and pull her in for a little hug. I tell her this is what we're going to do. "I'm going to pay for the rest of your gas and when you can someday down the road do something nice for someone when you can." Of course this brings more tears and a sobbing "Are you sure?!" I said yes sweetie and gave her a hug and sent her on her way. All that went through my head was this young lady is far from home and probably had very few people she knows in the area. If this was my daughter I would hope someone would do the same.
So while over all I do loose my mind it is nice to be able to spread a little joy and love when I can.
