Man, all this Iraq stuff is really starting freak me out. After reading some of the latest news reports, with this new supposed Osama tape, and this NATO situation with Germany, France & Belgium blocking U.S. efforts to get military equipment into Turkey...

I've got this sinking feeling right now that this is it, we're on the brink of WWIII. I think Bush, Rumsfeld and...

A British tar is a soaring soul!
As free as a mountain bird
His energetic fist should be ready to resist
A dictatorial word...

His nose should pant
and his lip should curl
His cheeks should flame
and his brow should furl
His bosom should heave
and his heart should glow
And his fist be ever ready for a knock-down blow!

biggrin biggrin

Well, today I find out that I didn't get the job I was hoping for. It's a major drag, especially seeing as how I was lead to believe it was a sure thing by my temp agent before the holidays. Honestly, I kinda got screwed because this wild goose chase caused me to miss another opportunity.

mad

But, at the same time I'm relieved that this...

Anyone who's curious about what's going on with Pete Townshend really should read his article, A Different Bomb.

He wrote it himself over a year ago and posted it on his website sometime last year. The link to it has since been removed, although it is still there on his domain in PDF format.

The article really goes quite a long way to...

You should read Gaiman. Neverwhere is genius. Good Omens (with Terry Pratchett) is hilarious. American Gods is great, and his short stories (Smoke and Mirrors) are amazing. He's the best writer I've read in years.

Go in order. Short stories (Smoke and Mirrors), Good Omens, then Neverwhere, Stardust, and American Gods last but most certainly not least. And then there's Coraline, which is for "children" but is still worth reading.
The man is a genius. Anne Rice only wishes she were as good as he is. I used to read her too, but the Tale of the Body Thief annoyed me to no end, so I stopped. Gaiman is amazing. I don't think there's a better writer going today.
