My economic teacher who I've grown to really respect had my class write an "I Believe" poem. He would probably be upset if he knew that I was sharing my poem with perverted freaks, but I totally think he is one on the inside. (Oh yeah, Coach, I totally saw you checkin it out!) Anywho, I thought I would post it here so ya'll could humor me and pretend that you like it.
I Believe
I believe in long white tube socks
I believe in the classic T-shirt and jeans
I believe in cozy jackets in odd colors
I believe in a dog's smile and the mischief in a cat's eye
I believe in feeding the birds and squirrels
I believe in kitty prints on my freshly washed car
I believe in the number 3
I believe in knocking on wood
I believe in the luck of Lincoln's face on a penny on the ground
I believe in the moment where I find money I didn't know I had in a pant pocket
I believe in finding matches for all of my socks
I believe in being in just the right place at just the right time
I believe in 3 am shopping with my dad
I believe in selfcheckouts
I believe that the walk from the back of the parking lot won't kill me
I believe in dinosaur coloring books
I believe in mixing up my Lincoln Logs
I believe in Lego towers that reach the ceiling
I believe in the proud feeling from starting a fire (with out gas)
I believe in the satisfaction I get from doing yard work
I believe in not taking the trail down a steep hill, but instead, making my own way down
I believe in never being the same person everyday. I should grow ad change with every moment
I believe that I am my own worst critic
I believe in constant change
I believe in the opening of windows on a nice rainy day
I believe in hanging clothes outside to dry
I believe in turning old fruit into compost
I believe in cold sheets
I believe in a dog to cuddle and sleep with
I believe in reading or knitting before I drift off to sleep
I believe in the Battle of Thermoplyae and the 300 Spartans (before it was cool)
I believe in the ghost in castles
I believe in Vlad the Impaler, but not as a Dracula the Vampire, but as a man
I believe in harmonicas and tamborines
I believe in drums around a campfire
I believe I look my best in fire light
I believe in road trips
I believe in plane food
I believe the trip home is always longer
I believe in doodling on my French quizzes
I believe in making dumb jokes in Biology when we study reproduction
I believe that 2nd lunch is disruptive, but a great break in the middle of class
I believe in hair being dyed crazy colors
I believe in the embossed-like feeling of a new tattoo
I believe in trying not to jerk when I anticipate the pain of the needle
I believe in playing in the "river" in the trailer park driveway after a good hard rain
I believe in collecting poke leaves for the lady we all called 'Granny'
I believe in cops arresting my old neighbors on charges of theft and possession

I believe in the elusive 'good' knife
I believe you must believe in something or you will never be anything.
So what do you believe in?
