after i finish reading Moby Dick i have to go and get the new Bret E. Ellis book Lunar Park. never read him before, tho i loved American Psycho the film version, which i figure is entirely different from the novel as is usual. Lunar Park's been getting a lot of press, including here at the sight. but besides that fact, it does seem interesting. and Ellis gave a good interview. i liked the guy.
and what i've heard about the book itself, gave me that certain vibe, that "choose this!" vibe. you know, like the vibe Barry Dorgan got from the pudding in Punch Drunk Love. "talk to me, talk to me, come on, tell me what i want.....ah...yes! pudding!"
exactly. that exact same process. i read some stuff about Lunar Park and had that "ah! yes!" moment. and i've learned to follow that gut reaction, if, for no other reason, than that it's decisive.
so yeah. that's me. that's how i make my decisions? why? because the ether tells me to, that's why. my radio-head, man, my radio-head! don't you get it?!
well hell. a part of me really wants to work on my own book right now. but another part of me is telling me i'm too tired, and that it's not going to work -- wait til tomorrow. it's Labor Day. take all day to do it on Labor Day....
yeah. why not.
