I'm moving to Seattle, by the way. My going away party is Saturday, April 22 at 5 PM. Ask me if you want directions.

I've changed my mind. It's not my membership on this site that needs to change. No, I've just been down. My life was muddied and indirect, but now everything is sharp, and clear.

I'm out of this town.

Yes, sometimes a change in scenery can indeed be the best medicine. Pulling up stakes, refashioning one's life.

I wish you well, my friend. smile

Bonne chance!

solomantra:

So you've felt the power of Tony Robbins too?

So many people going gray. I suspect that I, too, may someday follow in their footsteps. But then, I look at Desdemonia's newest set, and I think to myself: "Self, can you really give this up?"

It is a hard question. It vexes me.

I realized this morning that all the signs - drinking too much, eating too little, loss of appetites, inconsistent sleep - are signs that ash is beginning to rain down, again. So I'm going to go to the doctor, and also to see Joan, who I haven't seen in several months. I got extremely hammered three times last week, which is way too much, and...

More power to you, my friend. Self-awareness is the better part of valor. (And a self-imposed "dry out" can be quite the valiant act, too!)

Ever tried yerba mate??

wink

Someone asked me some questions about myself. You may or may not care.

Name: Jerry (when I worked at Intel, some people referred to my Chevy Lumina as the Jerry-Rig)
Nicknames: Origen, Molonel or Musty (short for Colonel Mustard, which was my handle in Counterstrike). Back in highschool, for a short time, I was known by several senior girls as Jer Bear.
Birthday: I'm...

One of the reasons I originally joined SG - well, if the truth be told, it was the majority of the reason - was to see tattoos and piercings. I encountered a link to here from BMEzine.com, where I frequently browse the tattoo galleries.

I'm starting to think about my next tattoo. I'm a little nervous, because my ceremonial half-shirt turned out much better...

Rumor has it that part of the reason Ginsberg founded his own school was that he could then seduce his students at leisure without worrying about losing his job.

Well, to quote Ken Kesey quoting Neal Cassady: "Ginsie would fuck mud."

Quite the statement coming from such a notorious sexual omnivore as Mr. Cassady!

So, I guess if he'd "fuck mud", he would most probably try to fuck a student or two. With their FULL consent, of course. Hmmm...

Always great to hear from you, too, guy!

Love the new pics. Like a teddy bear with a naughty *twinkle* in his eye!

Still working on my list of 20 things about myself:

1. I never learned how to dive headfirst into the water. It still scares me.

2. I didn't get drunk for the first time until I was 29. Talk about a life of self-control.

3. I have never owned a television set.

4. I trained to be a preacher. Full-on evangelist. No shit.

5...

Tattooing hurt ten times more than any needle I've shoved through my skin.
It just sort of stings. The only needle that really hurt was the one about two inches from the base of my sternum. It made a grody *krrch* sound, too.

I have no idea how suspension hooks would affect your ink. I don't even have scars, but then, I'm not prone to it.

starisea:

Ooooooooooooo! You need to tell me Burning Man stories. I have always wanted to go. Eeeeeeeeeeep! *envy* surreal

I LOVE the questions game! love

1. What do you read?
poetry, books on myth and mystisim, children's lit, strange stories, comics, post-modern fiction

2. What are your favorite movies?
I think that I covered this on my profile

3. Are you financially responsible?
As in "do I know the value of money"?, yes generally. As in " do I know when not to care?" also yes.

4. How do you feel about porn and strip clubs?
I don't think that I have had enough experience to form an adequate opinion

5. What are your pet peeves?
Blind faith, disrespect for nature, selfish people, willful ignorance

6. Do you have kids or want them?
No thanks

7. Are you a morning person or a night person?
How about a 10 am to 10 pm person?

8. What are your priorities in life?
my love, my marriage, my friends, shared pleasures

9. Summarize your spiritual beliefs?
Reality is fluid, there are many "realities", spirits (or small gods) exist, all things have a seed of divinity (atman), I will re-incarnate until all things have reached enlightenment, I will cycle forever because infinity is a mobious strip - om namaste brahma

10. What does a normal day in your life look like?

11. How do you feel about gay people?
This is a weird question. The bias is already imbedded within it.

12. What was your family life like?
Religiously dogmatic, distant

13. Who are your favorite artists?
Also covered throughly on my profile

14. What kind of music do you like?
Again . . . profile

15. Where do you go when you go out?
upscale restaurants, parks, gardens, art thangs, pubs, clubs, dancin' to the thup of the dj

16. How do you feel about therapy/counseling?
Ugh! I think that I must have had one of the worst counselors ever. (it was not so good in so many ways)

Been a while since I updated. Most of the news since Burning Man has been rather mundane. They offered me a fulltime position at work, which means the death of my three-day weekends.

*sigh*

I knew it was too good to last.

Awesome. Thanks, dude. I'm glad to see you still hang around these parts once in a while, too. wink

Nothing quite so grand as that. But it was overwhelming, and I appreciate your holding off. In a way, it means more to get a compliment a little bit later; it means someone noticed something more than which picture was on the front page for a few hours.
