Thirty Days of Thankfulness: Marijuana

Our Hallowed Lady Mary Jane

That is what I'm dedicating today's Thirty Days of Thankfulness post to.

I am a daily cannabis user. I have my Medical Marijuana card in the state of New Mexico where it currently is only legal medically. I am a Medical Marijuana patient for PTSD. I will be moving back to my homeland of the Pacific Northwest (in 2019) where is legal both recreationally and medically. I have lived here in New Mexico for 2.5 years. It took me a LONG time to adjust to not having recreational use available to treat my PTSD myself. So I obtained my card for about $200, an appointment an hour away, and a 6 week wait. A frustrating hassle. And I won't even get started on how much more expensive the dispensaries are down here than in the PNW.

Nevertheless, this beautiful herb saves me from my mind every day.

I use a Sativa based Hybrid in the daytime to keep me focused on work and creative. For work I am purely a model/performer and Etsy Shop owner. So I can really use that creative boost. And at night I use Indica.

If you don't know, Sativa and Indica are the two main species of marijuana. Sativa takes you up and gets you a more cerebral energetic high while Indica gives you more of body high. Indica often causes what's called "couch lock". Some people find the sensation unpleasant but others like myself, find it calming and deeply relaxing at night time. Sativa's energetic high is wonderful but it can cause paranoia and racing thoughts for some people. I am one of those people. I'm *MOSTLY* fine 95% of the time. But that 5% spent thinking my heart is about to fall out of my chest is just not worth it. After all it's medicine. You have to have the right dose.

Which leads us to Hybrids, which are simply mixtures of both Indica and Sativa strains. Hybrids have this beautiful feature where the effects are usually not as extreme as pure strains. So in the daytime, I use a Sativa Dominant Hybrid: more Sativa than Indica but still Indica present. This keeps me creative and energetic for work, but the Indica in it keeps away the paranoia. Both fight off my PTSD in helping me be a productive member of society.

I primarily vape my weed. This is because my roommates don't like the smell of marijuana. Vaping has virtually no scent. But you can't deny.... there is something incredibly erotic about the way I smoke.

In closing I am so thankful for marijuana and the peace it brings me from the following:

*Panic Attacks

*Crippling Depression

*Suicidal Ideation

*Night Terrors

*Insomnia

*Self Harm

Feel free to drop a tip my way for my next dispensary trip. Tips get pics babes! Thank you!
