I hate to update, since I know you all loved the Social D pics
So, the past two weeks pretty much went by in a haze of booze and sleepless nights (due to work). Not that I don't care, but I'm purposely omitting my feelings about the results of our presidential election (seeIsobela's journal to get an idea of how I feel). I spent over three hours in transit to get home and vote...still glad I did.
I prefer to focus on the positive. The past two weeks have been awesome...at least in my little world. And I'm not just talking about the Red Sox
The Thursday before Halloween I volunteered helping kids make costumes. Then I stayed up all night making sugar skulls for a dia de los muertos celebration at the place where I volunteer. The next day I was behind on work and feeling like all of the effort I put into things (especially volunteer work) never seems to add up to much.
I went and checked my mail and got an unexpected package from reina_confundida. A few months back I had placed an add on my schools website for her and she said she would give me her old developing tank. I told her no, that was way too generous. Not only did she send me a nice metal developing tank, she gave me five nice metal reels, and a really sweet note!
as if that wasn't enough random generosity...
nihilist got me a theremin for $20!! How sweet is that? Not only did he go through the trouble of getting it, but he met up with me the night before class so I'd have it the next day!
Thank you both for restoring my faith in humanity! I am so happy! Honestly. All the good energy you put out there comes back to you eventually! (I will be sending out thank you presents this Friday so expect strange things in the mail!)
The dia de los muertos celebration was awesome. Tons of people volunteered to help out and they did a great job. The kids were a lot of fun, though they went kind of crazy at the end. There was a fist fight and one volunteer was attacked with face paint
This Friday night was Artist Ball. It was a good time, and a good excuse to get all dressed up and get trashed. I will post pics as soon as I get a chance! Yesterday I woke up with a hangover and ran six miles. Then I had brunch and ran to the bus station where I hopped a bus back to Boston at the last second in order to show my friend Danny a good time on his 21st. I took him to Dali for tapas and then we went to Charlie's for more booze. Sadly I think he was the most sober one of the bunch. It was a good time though.
Now I'm back in Providence and it's back to work.
I'll upload pics of my new badass projects and me in my ball gown, but for now, this is all you're getting!
Mo posing ever so patiently for a stop animation. I wish I could upload it for you to see!
Every little thing is working out
