Ok, more about the Portland trip.
-Les picked me up at the airport Thursday night. Stayed at the Holiday Inn on nw23rd. Cute part of town; very quaintly appeals to the yippie in me. I actually wouldn't mind living there, if only to be near to Misohapi and the Tibetan Kitchen. Fucking awesome asian food in this town.
-I spent ALL day Friday looking at real estate with my realtor Shoshanah, who actually knew about this site. In fact, she took me in to see the Doug Fir and the Jupiter when we were in that part of town, and there was some sort of SG advertisements. I mentioned them, and she proceeded to tell me allll about SG. I just smiled and nodded and eventually told her I was a member. I think I won some points. Cool lady. She showed me 7 properties that day. I went and saw two more on my own. I really saw potential in three. Now I'm just waiting to hear back from the sellers' agents. BAH! ME NO WAIT!
-Les and I ate ridiculous amounts of food. Aside from the aforementioned asian restuarants which were amazing and cheap, the real culinary highlight of our stay in Portland's nw23rd district was Caf Dacx. We had some wonderful regional pinot noir, crispy-baked celery root and salad for the appetizer, and I had the most incredible grilled portobellos ever to have graced my intestines. With garlic mashed potatoes on the side, of course! But we skipped dessert to meet up with some musician buddies, and we drank New Deal vodka and the obligatory PBR and jammed on some Neutral Milk Hotel while Les was bored.
- Les' parents took us out to eat on Sunday. Good to see them again. Hooked up with woodstock, girl_friday_404 and her boyfriend, Nathan at McMennamins on 23rd. Had some wonderful conversation with some warm, wonderful folk.
I cannot wait to move. Regardless of where I set up shop, the restaurant and pubs in the nw23rd area make me want to find whatever piece of shit apartment i can afford there. Of course, if you come to visit me, I buy you a beer. If you're coming from across the Atlantic, you get TWO beers. Cause, you know, it's farther and stuff. Just how it works.

and you're right, i've been spaced out all week. Only to recover to find that i lost an auction that i've been watching on ebay all week.
and btw, i don't suppose you've ever played a vox jaguar / continental before? I've been in the market for one and was wondering how it plays.
