Manditory Friday update:
Just came from Land of the Dead. So good. Tom Savini (aka: machete zombie) is my hero. I want to write my undergrad thesis about horror movies as a vehicle for social commentary. One chapter on gender; one on race; and one on class. Throw in an introduction and conclusion, and I'm done. Sweet.
I had a discussion with band-mates last week and informed them that we didn't need to be playing so many Sonic Youth covers, but conceeded that some easy ones could be useful in us just learning to play together, especially since I'm new. I'm brining Sweet Jane to practice on Monday. If they look at me blankly (which they well might), I'm throwing a diva tantrum and walking out.
Going to Stink Town tomorrow to see some bands with Zach. Awesome.
I'm so fucking poor it makes me cry.

I'm reading his journals right now. He's probably just now getting off work and I want to call but I think I'll wait. this.is.fucking.hard. he wants to turn it into a book and I think he could. he can write.
sometimes I just have to stop and be grateful for the amazing people that pass through my life, even if it's only for a little while, and the things that they share with me. I know I can't fix any of this--especially this stuff--but if sharing this with me has meant anything, well, it's worth it...
