My day was teh suck, as they say.
I had a meeting with a professor, but when I got there she said that she couldn't see me because she had to attend an emergency union meeting. Word around the campfire is that there may be a professor's strike within the next 2 weeks. Fucking 'ell. My understanding of the situation is that an independent concilliator was brought in and determined that the profs' demands were reasonable, and the university should give them what they want (it's not a $$ issue, it's a work load issue). Anyhoo, the uni (not too surprisingly) won't budge, and things are apparently on the verge of getting very ugly. But you didn't hear it from me, this is all still very hush hush.
I also found out that the process of procuring school money will take longer than expected. So I ate some fried chicken to celebrate.

You're the very first person to openly get that joke. Now don't tell anyone, I want them to think I'm clever.
