I seriously don't know how it happened, but I got [nearly] everything I wanted for my birthday as listed in my previous entry:
* My folks and my Grandma each gave me $50... which I will likely spend on groceries and comfy shoes for work
* My folks also took me out for a good meal
* My band did not suck last night. There are photos of this but I do not have them yet. I'll post them when I do.
* I got some free beer at the show
I did not get a weekend in Montreal, but my friend Patrick gave me a bottle of La Fin Du Monde ("The End of the World") malt liquor which features a map of Quebec on the label, and a pack of DuMaurier cigarettes. That's about as close as you can get without actually going to Montreal.
Other highlights:
* My friends Matthew and Rachel came to visit and brought me homemade mittens from Val's Knitting Korner in Saint John. They are purple and orange and red!
* BobbyBeef bought me this book. I can't wait to read it and it's effing huge!
Synnove wants me to list 20 things about myself. I'll get right on it after I shower and go to the grocery store for bread and eggs, I swear to god.
Update: I just got mistaken for a hooker. Twice, I believe. I was supposed to go to a staff meeting at 7:30 at a coffee shop downtown. I got there a little early, and it was closed, so I figued I'd wait for everyone to show up and then we'd all go somewhere else. While I was standing out front, the following things happened:
* Two guys walked past me, and they slowed as they approached me. They stared at me. Then one of them wispered something to the other. They laughed, and kept going.
* A few minutes later, a guy on a bike came along. He got off his bike, and stood in an area behind me for a while. I have no idea what he was doing back there. Then he got back on his bike and got a little closer to me. He asked if I was waiting for a bus. I said no. Then he said "I can give you a ride if you want." I said no again, louder this time, and he went back in the direction he came from.
I waited there until 7:45, then I came back home. Fucking awesome.

Happy birthday, even if I'm a few days late.

That is awesome, but your book is still better. Let me know how it is, cause it sounds really interesting.
