Flashback Part 2
After being out of work for about 18 months and witnessing the grim reality of drugs and deprivation as some of you will have read about earlier I finally got a fulltime job, which I thought at the time would be the end of my problems but little did I know I was swapping the limbo of unemployment for an altogether different type of hell. I was now working at Everything 1 fulltime a delightful emporium of junk and unreliable goods, for a what do you expect right. Because it was such an easy job working there( all you had to do was fill shelves with useless consumer junk and serve people at the counter) pretty much anyone who could count and had all they're limbs would get taken on. Which meant as well as the expected pasty braindead chav morons there was also a selection of "alternative" types who couldn't get work at other places because of how they looked or their attitude, none of which really mattered here. I remember one one of the girls had a green mohawk I thought that was so cool. Despite the daily grind of dealing with people who assumed you were inferior to them because you worked there It was actually alright. There was a common bond between most of us working there the fact that we hated the place and it kept you from becoming depressed. Then one day everything changed when we got a new manager in the form a small woman who I won't name, suffice to say she the people skills of your average junkie desperate for a fix. I began to dread getting up to go for work solely because of the fact I knew I would have to deal with her petty little tortures. Since the company was so shoddy nobody who worked there actually had a contract stating anything about the company and we were all paid in cash every week. I could list all the things that happended that made me seethe with rage like I never had before but that would take up too mch space but here's a few that stand out :
- After cashing up the tills one night and finding the money was down and adamant she couldn't have made a mistake she had the shaved ape ( who also worked for the same shoddy company) who did security search everyone only to find out she had made a mistake but still wouldn't admit it.
- Fired my then girlfriend for no apparent reason other than the fact that it would piss me off.
- The area manager came in and threatened to get some guys to " adjust my attitude" if I didn't get back in line.
Slowly but surely all the people that had worked there were leaving for pastures new all due to one persons bitter attitude and raging superiority complex. After 2 1/2 years I was the only person left form the original team and depression was eating into me like a virulent cancer, I had become more and more withdrawn and was pretty much a completely different person, I was alienating my family and my girlfriend had left me. I woke up one morning and just decided I couldn't take anymore and quit, at that stage I'd rather be unemployed than carry on. In case your wondering why I didn't quit before then when you're out of work for any length of time and you get a job you keep it as long as you can or until you can find another one but my mind couldn't take the strain of waiting antoher six months 'til I found another job. At the end of my last day I felt like I had been just released from prison.

I think everyone did the same thing with there profile you'll just have to edit it when you get the chance. I hear Electric Ballroom is a pretty good night out but I live miles away so I guess I'll never really know. I happen to really like the Goth look and I'm sure I'm not the only one here, I hope you show those indie boys what they're missing out on. Hope you get better soon.
If you ever get a chance to go to Electric Ballroom on a Friday, do so! Its totally worth it. Its my favourite night out and I don't think that'll ever change.
As for the party, i ended up missing out on it cos I was feeling as rough as sandpaper. I heard from my friend that there was some kind of gay orgy... I totally missed out! Perhaps another time...
