I figured this would be a good way to get to know me, since I'm relatively new to the site- plus, I dig doin' the homework, so thanks @missy , @lyxzen , @charmaine, @rambo !
1. I'm a HUGE fan of most everything Japanese. Films, books, anime, food, and culture. I visited Japan in 2009 to see one of my favorite bands play, and I also took several semesters of Japanese language after graduating high school. Visual Kei (a type and style of music) and anime actually had a huge influence over my style when I was a teenager, and is ultimately the reason why I started modeling. Here's a throwback photo to 2009.
2. Aside from studying Japanese, I also took violin lessons for a while! I SUCK at reading music, which was my hardest obstacle to overcome. I eventually had to give up taking lessons because I could no longer afford it, though I'd love to start again.
3. In 2010 I moved to Taishan, China and taught English there. It was one of the best and worst times in my life. I loved living in China and I loved the friends I made, but I hated teaching and was actually very ill for a lot of the time I was there. I later found out after moving back to California that I had been living with six fractured ribs. Ouch.
4. After my ribs finally finished healing, around 2011, I started waist-training! Here is my first ever vlog I did for Corset Connection, whom I still model for and edit videos for :) I can currently tight lace to 18 inches.
5. I currently model full time, it's how I've supported myself for the last two years, but before I was able to do so, I worked as an Administrative Assistant for several political campaigns in my home county. My favorite part of the job was getting saucy and hosting events. I was good at hustlin' votes ;)
6. I always wanted to be in a band, but I am not musically inclined. I suckered a very talented friend of mine into letting me "sing" with him though, and we started a duo called XII XXI in 2009. We recorded two songs, neither of which were that great, which is when I realized I should probably stick with modeling.
7. All of my tattoos (roses and kanji on my shoulder, sunflowers and hydrangeas on my ribs/side) commemorate loved ones that have passed. I don't speak about their meanings often, but a few select people close to me know their significance and meanings. I'll be getting my sunflower piece finished in December when I visit my family in Northern California. (The struggle of living ten hours away from your tattoo artist.)
8. I'm married- and yes, my husband fully supports me bein' naked all over the internet :)
9. One of my other passions aside from modeling and traveling, is cars! I attend a lot of car meets in SoCal, go to Formula Drift twice a year, and am a part of VW Girls as well as a spokesmodel for 742 Marketing :) I drive an '02 GTI that's modded- all of which I've done myself.
edit: A few people have asked to see more of my car- I'm flattered!! So here is a look under the hood at what I've done so far: Complete SAI/EVAP delete, 42DD catch can, Swapped out my air box for a cone. Also have a straight pipe in place of a cat, 18" OZ Racing Ultralegerra Wheels, HID headlights, and after market muffler tip.
10. I'm a crazy cat lady. Seriously. I talk to my cats more than I talk to other people. I have two: Rocky (gray Scottish Fold) and Bukakke (Calico). They are my furry children and the loves of my life!
