The following lists are of shows currently airing and do not include cancelled shows or shows on hiatus.
Favorite Hour Longs
1. Chuck
When this show came out I REALLY didn't want to like it. I rolled my eyes at every trailer and magazine ad for it. It didn't help that at my first ever comic-con two years ago this was EVERYWHERE... INCLUDING our ROOM KEY! Mainly I was against the show because I LOVED Jake 2.0, which didn't even get a full season, and Chuck felt like a total rip-off.
But... I fell in love. It does have similarities to Jake, but it's different enough that it comes off as its own thing. Though, speaking of Jake, it does remind me an awful lot of something my friend Javi would be involved with.
One of my favorite things about the show is that it's overall positive. It is often sweet, hopeful, and you feel good after watching it. As much as I'm into the dark, downer shows. I've been needing feel good shows, which is probably one of the reasons why this is my favorite show airing right now - MUST watch it live!
2. Dexter
On the total OPPOSITE end of Chuck is Dexter. I was a little worried for S3 since it got new show runners, but it's been just as excellent. (Though, I'm behind because my wife won't let me watch it with out her and she has a new WoW expansion! NOOOO!!!)
3. True Blood
I almost didn't put this up here because it's a first season show... but it's won me over. We started watching this because we liked the books, but the first few eps came off a little campy and odd, so we weren't watching it SERIOUSLY. Then at some point... we started caring. I think it was after the stupid nonsense rule breaking plot of Jason and the engorged... well, if you've seen the show you know what I'm talking about. But it hit its stride, discovered what it was, and now on Sunday nights we have trouble deciding which to watch first - Dexter or True Blood.
4. Pushing Daisies
I'm actually not AS in love with this show as I was in Season 1, but it's so super saccharine sweet and hopeful and colorful that I can't help smiling and sighing after each installment. So it stays up here.
5. Supernatural
Damn this show keeps getting better and better. It's my sexist indulgement show - my Western. Many of my friends joke that I'm "one of the girls" -- this show brings out the testosterone. Leather, muscle cars, guns, killing monsters to 70s rock. I finish an ep and want to go do something manly like.. crush cans or bench-press unconventional objects.
I think I'll finish this post to Zoso.
Should be on the list
1. Fringe
We really really love this show. It's not up there mainly because it's first season and it JUST came back from a break so True Blood had more time to become routine. Dr. Crazypants is teh awesomesauce.
2. NCIS
This show... It's not my normal. But the characters are awesome (Especially Abby!) and it's really very good. So glad it's on Tuesday... because apart from Fringe, nothing else is.
3. Californication
Another show I kinda didn't want to like but fell for. Mostly for the characters.
And the excessive nudity.
Favorite Half Hours
1. How I Met Your Mother
After years of Friends and Seinfeld (No, I didn't like it - I know, blasphemy!) this was the show that renewed my faith in sitcoms. I don't think there is a single episode I don't like.
2. Big Bang Theory
I tried watching this once and turned it off within two minutes. DJ Spider convinced me to give it another shot, and about halfway through the first episode.... it got better. And now it's one of my favorites. It's terribly geeky - so much so, I'm not sure how it's still on the air.
But I'm not complaining.
3. 30 Rock
Tina Fey.
'Nuff said.
4. The Office
I Like this season... I think. I'm enjoying it, but I'm not as invested as previous seasons. I think that Holly leaving really hurt the show.
5. Clone Wars
In the words of Sheldon Cooper from "Big Bang Theory", "I can't watch the Clone Wars cartoon before the Clone Wars movie... I want George Lucas to disappoint me in the order he intended."
Actually, I've been enjoying this series. It has it's... Lucas moments. But it's a nice end to a Friday night just before bed.
I almost did a separate list for cartoons, but with Kim Possible and Avatar over and Venture Brothers on hiatus... I haven't watched a lot recently. Ben 10 Alien Force really should be up here, but I'm SO behind on it. I don't like the new Transformers Animated, and the rest of my TV schedule has been far too full anyway.
But I love cartoon so much, I'd be open to suggestions.
Need to catch up on
1. Bones
I just do.
On Notice
1. HEROES
OMFG Heroes, GET WITH IT! This is seriously the only show I watch for the actors and not writers because I love Daphne and Greg Grunberg and Masi Oka... The show's just.... ugh. For one...
(I'm behind one ep so not spoilers unless you haven't watched this season at all)
The show is seriously almost dead to me.
2. Prison Break
This show was okay enough to keep my attention... but the ridiculousness of the tension devices made it fall off my watch list due to a heavy Monday schedule.
3. Terminator
I actually like this show so far - it has potential. But Mondays are just too full, so it's down here. Not really even its fault.
4. Smallville
The one show that got a promotion. It was dead to me until yesterday. Now I have to catch up.
I'm guessing it'll be dead to me again before season's end.
5. My Own Worst Enemy
I'm putting this here because I'm not entirely sure what to think about it yet...
Dead To Me
Reality TV
The End
There area few staples I left off like the Daily Show, South Park, Mythbusters - but those are all things I expect to be there and watch randomly.
Do I love TV too much? Maybe... but what else is there!? j/k
