sorry for my total lack of responding to people.. but guess what? i've been applying for lots and lots of jobs. and i have THREE interviews tomorrow! i'm so excited - i think i can actually get at least one of these positions, and that would make things much better. i am kind of enjoying the whole not-working thing, but a job is a good thing to have.

i had a great day today. i went out to the beach again.. it was really hot, and so we spent lots of time in the water. algae, squeezed out, is the most beautiful color of green. like leaves in midsummer or old velvet. i looked at my shadow, as the sun made mother-of-pearl patterns in the water around me. i turned backflips and got water in my ears. climbing in the pilings, i scratched the back of my heel... but i stood on the dusty wood, in the wind, and felt very free. then my friend picked up a rock, or what she thought was a rock, but it was a clam! so we chased clams for awhile, and got a big sackful. it's the wrong season for clams, and they're out of a pretty dirty river, so i don't know if we can eat them, but they were so much fun to find! they're also in my friends' fridge right now - i hope they're not leaking..

i came home, took a shower, and realized that i'm quite sunburned. didn't expect that - but it means that i actually got some color in my face for once - and more freckles! i like freckles.

i smiled so much today. happy grins, excited words. sun and sand and clams and water and sky and bright blue green tan hot happy alive.
