Well what is up with my luck these days ... ran into a friend from High School tonight in my store. We got chatting and he asked me what I was up to. I told him I was in college for Print Journalism and that I was a writer and photographer for the College paper. Well his older brother walked in and overheard me saying this ... so a few minutes later he pulled me aside and asked me if I could write press releases? I have been trained how to write them so I said yes. He then said he needed someone who knew how to use a newspaper design program .... and then tried to remember the name of the program. Before it came to him I said, "Indesign CS"? And he said, "yeah that one. Do you know how to use it?" I do so I told him. I also happened to have a copy of the new paper that we printed today - I had a full page spread with my story and the accompanying photos. I also did the design and layout of the page. Well it turns out he works for the United Nations and he's involved with a program called "The One Ton Challenge." He's going to check their budget and get back to me. So if all goes well, I'll be working part time for them this summer writing and editing press releases.
