Oh SG, I'm heading on too many trips and I think I will probably be forced to neglect you. It makes me sad.
This week is finals week, but all I have is my biology final, and I have to finish writing a paper. The paper is due Wednesday and the test is Wednesday too...
Thursday I'm leaving for Poland, with my Novel and Film class. We've read four books this term, one of which was Schindler's List, and because we are semi-close to Poland we decided to go to Crakow/Kracow (depending if you're spelling it German or Polish) and on to Auschwitz. It is going to be a very intense trip. We are leaving Thursday, and there is a brief layover in Berlin, then it's back on the train, and into Poland, it's a total of 20 hours to get there. We are spending Friday in the city. It's supposed to be one of Europe's gems, and though the many wars and things, there is still a Cathedral and Castle that are several hundred years old. (I'm sure I'll have all sorts of info to share when I return) then Saturday we are spending 8 hours at the camp itself, I really can't imaging 8 hours at Auschwitz, I know I will have to take a ton of film, I just hope I don't freak out. After the day at the camp we head back home to Germany on the 20 hour train ride.
I arrive home Sunday the 13th, have the 14th off, but have to register for next term which is going to be miserable, then Tuesday the 15th I have to work, and then I'm expected to go out to dinner with our boss that's coming down from England. Wednesday the 16 I fly out of here to go to France. I take a bushel of trains to get to Aix to visit my friend for a few days then on Saturday the 19, another couple trains to get from Aix to Nice where I have a 8 day "Field Study" class about Modern French Art. For those 8 days I'll be going to museums, and trampling all over Nice. I then fly out from Montpeiller on the 26th and get home here late, and work all day Sunday the 27th, which is Easter, AND my birthday.
The 28th I start my classes again... so I hope that I don't have to abandon SG for too long, but at least now you know where I am, think good thoughts for all my traveling. I hate flying, even if it's just a short flight.
Luckily I talked my friend Moose into going with me to France, and she's also in my Novel and Film class so she'll be there for Poland too.
